Worldwide Classroom

Building a Worldwide Classroom

In addition to on-site experiences and education programs, America’s Freedom Center will extend into the local, national and worldwide communities. Educational outreach opportunities will be available via the America’s Freedom Center website and other distance learning channels, regionally distributed materials and classroom visits.

Travel Trunks

America's Freedom Center, in cooperation with the Wisconsin Veterans Museum, offers Travel Trunks for classroom use. The Travel Trunk helps students to learn about history with hands-on items. The trunks contain artifacts from real-life veterans. Examples of included artifacts are uniforms, equipment, official papers and personal letters. An extensive teachers guide with background information and suggested activities is also included in each trunk. The Travel Trunk program begins with World War I, World War II, Korea and Vietnam trunks.

Speakers Bureau

The Speakers Bureau links schools with veterans, civilians and current military personnel who are interested in sharing their stories. These speakers will be trained to ensure that quality speakers are entering the classroom. Students will learn from individuals who have experienced history. Background information will be provided to the teacher for pre-speaker preparation. Post-speaker activity suggestions will also be provided.

If you are interested in donating to the Travel Trunk program or becoming a member of the Speakers Bureau, please contact America’s Freedom Center Foundation at 414.727.2744 or info@americasfreedomcenter.org.
